Requirements
Our Missionaries are challenged and work hard. We are looking for individuals who have a strong devotion to the Lord Jesus, and can work well with others. Applicants must have a heart for low-income individuals. You must be flexible, teachable, and enjoy working with children and youth.
Training
Missionaries spend the first week of the summer in training and preparation. Training includes one weekend at Mission Waco’s Poverty Simulation facility.
You will learn the skills needed to build relationships with children, youth and parents, and effectively share the Gospel. You will come to understand the many differences between the poor and middle class, and how to approach those you will help.
JAM Missionaries also receive training on how to assist children with academics. Job Club Missionaries learn how to teach job skills and model appropriate work behavior.
