Healing the whole person

Mission Brenham reaches out to the poor, the lost, and the lonely. Many of their lives have spiraled out of control — leading to poverty, addiction, joblessness, lack of self-respect and lack of respect for others.

But no matter how poor or desperate a person may be, they are beloved of God and therefore worthy of our compassion and help.

We bring them love, vision and hope, and help them find purpose. Then we connect them with opportunities to take responsibility for their lives, their finances, and their families.

Did you know? None of the youth that Mission Brenham works with have a biological mother and father living in their homes.

“If there had been no Mission Brenham, I would be different, very different. I wouldn’t know anything about Jesus. I would be in the streets with those other guys. Now I help out at Mission Brenham, and I just got my first job!”

Making a difference…

According to a Chinese proverb, a young boy walked along the beach, carefully picking up starfish that had washed ashore, and returning them safely to the sea before they could dry up and die in the sun's heat.

An old man wandered by, incredulously eyeing the boy and the many thousands of starfish cast upon the vast beach. "Why are you wasting your time?" the old man asked. "There are too many starfish to save them all. Don't you know that what you're doing doesn't make a difference?"

The boy, continuing with his task, reached down to pick up another starfish. As he gently placed it in the water, he said, "It makes a difference to this one."
